Two Barrios with Three Points of View!

My clients are AMAZING! I may have mentioned this before. I have decided to feature 2 tours in 2 different barrios with 3 different clients. First, let me introduce husband and wife team, Daniel and Suzanne from my beautiful CANADA! We set off into the sneaky side streets of San Telmo and into La Boca. I loved how they worked as a team to get their shots. If one of the two was concentrating on a scene the other would find something else to turn their camera towards. "No point in getting the same shot, when we can get something totally different!". Indeed. They make beautiful books of their epic travels when they return to Ottawa to remember and share their adventures. Loved their use of colour and composition in their work. Team work at its finest!

Next, to the off-the-beaten-path Palermo tour with Eunice. I like her style. She likes to shoot anything and everything that is different from her home town in New Zealand. She is an inspiration to travelers everywhere, going it alone on BIG adventures at 70ish year young! During our tour, we walked in (literally) on a video shoot with model and model dog (image 2) and were invited inside a strangers home to admire it's beauty (image 3). You gotta love street photography in Buenos Aires! All the wonderfully random things can happen if you put out the good vibes! Love your photos and your spirit, Eunice!

BOOK NOW your customized tour of Buenos Aires with me as your guide! Who knows what we will see and shoot and the fun we will have!

LOVEloveLOVEloveLOVELOVELOVE!!!!!!

Today, Asia from Poland came on my tour. I'm not going to say much because the images speak for themselves (AMAMAMAMAAAAZING!!). What I am going to say, is that she taught me today. It was a beautiful thing and refreshing as I am usually the teacher. I'm all about learning and Asia taught me a different way of looking at the world. Simple. Mostly Black and White. Kinda like how life should be? I have been feeling a bit of a creative funk lately and this has helped me see the light. Big time.

We have decided to hang out and shoot together more. Next time, we are going to try to swap creative styles. She shoots like I do, and I shoot like she does. I am overly excited about this.

Follow her on Instagram at ASIAPIECYK hey! Follow ME on Instagram too AmeliaMcFoto

Check out her work and if you want me to show the cool places to shoot in Buenos Aires, hit me up. Maybe you can teach me something too!

La Época

I found this place quite by accident when my client, Phillip and I were touring one of my favourite barrios, Caballito. We felt like we stepped back in time in this museum/barber shop/cafe. It's off the charts amazing!

Check out our keen model, Jules (sadly no one was getting a close razor shave that day) and our talented barber, Ignacio. This place has been around since the beginning of time. Every instrument used is legit. The little cafe is old school. Ignacio told me they are the proud owners of the oldest barber chair in Buenos Aires. Damn.

All around, a super cool experience. The cerveza is freezing cold on a hot day, the staff welcoming and kind. Be aware that you will be charged a fiver to take photos.

Oh! To up the ante on the coolness factor, the shop becomes a tango show from 4:30-6:30 Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Couldn't think of a better backdrop for a few tango photos!

2 Days With Edward

Over the course of 2 lovely days, Edward and I toured, clicked, talked and laughed. We captured a slice of BA life in Palermo Viejo. We chatted with locals. We strolled quietly though the Chacarita cemetery. We took portraits of ourselves and each other. We went to markets. We put some mileage on our sneakers and our memory cards. We picked though musty 45s to decorate my bare wall and photographed the process. We drank coffee and wine and mused about photography and life. We edited. And edited. And edited some more.

Together, we took a bazillion images. Somehow, we edited it down to 21 of Edward's best for this post.

I thank my lucky starts to have such cool and talented clients! Don't you agree?

Ray Rocks Almagro

Look at this guy! He was such a sweetie.

Look at this guy! He was such a sweetie.

I couldn't wait to post Ray's photos of our tour though Almagro today. Not only did the weather cooperate but, we had some fabulous subject matter entering our frames. Ray said he needed some work on his composition, I disagree! Each image is thoughtful and interesting. What do you think? Oh, and Ray is not only an excellent photographer he was also a break dancer back in the day. This, I love.
